The Empress

I painted this in 2012 but I forgot to upload the final image after having worked on it for so long. It's a large watercolor/acrylic piece that's about 18x24 ish. It looks much better in person and in certain light because I used acrylic gold paint on her wing tip headdress. The one thing I regret was that it started out as practice, but now I wish I had used better, thicker archival paper.

The Emperor is a work in progress right now, I have no idea when I will make him, but the Empress is needs a partner now. This piece was inspired by Queen Elizabeth I. I'm thinking about turning this into an entire series of Arcana Tarot Cards some day. We'll see!!!
